Xi'an has become a famous tourist destination for its recent find of the terra-cotta soldier statues, which is about a 35 min drive outside of the city center. Xi'an itself is a great city with a pop of 8 million. It had a much more positive vibe to its people and the culture surrounding it. Spending 48 hours was just not enough time in Xi'an, another 2 days would have been great though. Put it on your list if you have time and are traveling to China.
