Splitboard Mission

Hakkoda has had a great start to the season, but sometimes it does have to stop snowing for a 24-48 hours in January. In this case, its time to break out the Splitboard and go earn some turns on a Mountain in the Hakkoda's nobody ventures to trek in high winter season. 1.5 hours of driving each way, 2 hours of hiking and ten minutes of snowboarding. Each turn is worth it, no crowds, no people. Just nature, snow bunnies (actual white rabbits) and of course fresh lines top to bottom.

Robby Days at Hakkoda

My good friend that I grew up with came to Japan for a quick 4 day trip and timed it prefect with the snow and weather.  The first day of riding was typical Hakkoda white out conditions and the second day was all time sunny and snow conditions.  Good times followed by Onsens, sushi, ramen, and Beers! Good to see you old friend. Heres to making dreams.

Hakkoda Diaries Episode Six: #90cm

It's been a deep week to say the least.  It snowed around a foot a night for 5 days straight and last night it snowed around 3 feet. Almost too much snow...almost.  This could be another all time season in Japan.

Geto Kogen

Every year I go to Geto Kogen with a local ski group from the Misawa Base called the Mogul Mashers. Its a long day but the Powder is plenty and the crowds are non existent. Ride Tohoku!
