China Chronicles: Xi'an

Xi'an has become a famous tourist destination for its recent find of the terra-cotta soldier statues, which is about a 35 min drive outside of the city center.  Xi'an itself is a great city with a pop of 8 million.  It had a much more positive vibe to its people and the culture surrounding it.  Spending 48 hours was just not enough time in Xi'an, another 2 days would have been great though.  Put it on your list if you have time and are traveling to China. Here are a few pictures from the soldiers, 5 story pagoda/Buddhist temple and atop the Xi'an accent city wall.

China Chronicles: Beijing; Summer Palace, Forbidden City, Great Wall

Yep. China is different. The food was good, the sites where better and the weather well...a bit foggy/smoggy.   The following pictures of the Summer Palace, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall which I wish we had more time at.  More China Chronicles to come.

Kyoto Temples,Shrines and Shogun Castles.

We took a quick trip to Kyoto as it is a must see while living in Japan with its culture and History.  We wished we could have spent weeks and months there to really enjoy it, but the reality sets in, and within a couple of days we are back home in Misawa. Just the two of us this trip so we got to move fast and ride bikes around the city.  Here are some shots of just Temples,Shrines and Castles. Hope your not templed out?
