Surfing again.

It's been months since I have been in the water. Finally got out for a little dawn patrol session last Saturday. Water is still really cold. Had to wear the thick rubber and booties. Guys where in dry suits and hoods too. Hopefully it warms up soon at least the water temperature. Surfing around misawa is great as you can go searching for your own sand bars just down the beach in forest roads like these. In the words of AI, "I m always a better person after I surf"

Hakkoda hut

Every year I try to stay at one of the 2 mountain huts in the Hakkodas.  Finally made it back a couple of weeks ago.  Its a great place to stay as you have lots of options to ski when you wake up. Plus staying in a cabin with no running water or heat for the night in the snow is pretty cool.

Spring time split.

Spring time in the Hakkoda's means lots of hiking and splitboarding.  This past weekend was Hot!  We hiked from Yachi Onsen up to Takadaodake, rode the Northeast face down to the foot Onsen near Hinadake. Really steep turns and great corn snow.  Plenty of snow left in the Hakkoda's!
